Kaching Privacy Policy (English)
Last updated: 2026-08-05
Kaching (“the app”) is a personal money-log app published by Felix Andrian (“we”, “the developer”). This policy explains what data the app collects, stores, and shares.
1. Short version
Kaching is a local-first app. It does not collect, transmit, or sell any personal data. Everything you enter — your wallets, transactions, categories, notes, and settings — is stored only on your device, in an encrypted-at-rest database managed by your operating system.
2. Data we collect
None. The app:
- has no account system and requires no sign-up;
- does not use analytics, crash reporting, advertising, or tracking SDKs;
- does not read your contacts, location, photos, or other personal data;
- does not connect to any server. All features work offline.
The only data stored is the ledger content you create yourself (wallet names, transaction amounts, notes, categories, currency choices, and appearance settings). This data never leaves your device.
3. Data sharing
We do not share, sell, rent, or transfer your data to anyone, for any reason. Because your data never leaves your device, there is nothing to share.
4. Data storage and security
- Your data is stored in a local SQLite database inside the app’s private storage on your device. Other apps cannot read it.
- The operating system’s standard app sandbox and (where enabled) device encryption protect it.
- If you export transactions to CSV (a feature you trigger manually), the exported file is written to a location you choose, and you are responsible for sharing or storing that file yourself.
- Uninstalling the app deletes your data. Because there is no cloud backup, we recommend exporting a CSV copy of your ledger periodically if you want a backup. Deleting the app does not leave copies on our side — there is nothing on our side.
